California State PTA Announces Nominating Slate for 2009-11

We recently received word from the California State PTA of their nominees for the California State PTA Board of Directors 2009-11 term. These offices will be elected during the First General Meeting at Convention on Thursday, April 30, 2009. Article XII of the California State PTA bylaws identify the procedure for nominating another person by petition or at the meeting (which requires a 30-day advance notice of intent). Congratulations to 17th District past president Colleen You, who has been nominated to be Vice President of Health! Note that these are nominees for the State PTA Board of Directors, not 17th District’s slate of nominees.

Offices to be Elected on 4/30/2009:
President-Elect: Carol Kocivar
Vice President of Leadership Services: Barbara Ledterman
Vice President of Member Services: Mary Galuska
Vice President of Communications: Linda Mayo
Vice President of Convention: Kathy Stevenson
Vice President of Community Concerns: Brian Bonner
Vice President of Education: Suzan Solomon
Vice President of Health: Colleen You
Vice President of Parent Involvement: Becky Reece
Vice President of Membership*: Carol-Ann Koch-Weser
Secretary: Anna Thompson
Treasurer: Diane Foote

Offices Not Being Elected
President: Jo Loss (as the current President-Elect, will automatically take office as President on July 1)
Parliamentarian: Sue King (appointed by Jo Loss)
Director of Legislation: Debbie Look (appointed by Jo Loss)

* The Membership Commission is a proposed new commission that will be voted on at Convention. This nomination is subject to the approval of the new commission by the Convention delegates.
