Written by Webmaster

Are you wondering what the duties and responsibilities of the position you have been elected to serve as PTA/PTSA Board or Committee Member are? 17th District PTA is hosting our annual “Spotlight on PTA” training workshop/event on Saturday, May 16, 2009 and all PTA/PTSA board and committee members are invited!

Two workshop sessions will be provided, offering training for President, Vice President, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Auditor, Secretary, Historian, Parliamentarian, Webmaster, Reflections Chair, and Membership Chair positions, along with training in building Parent Involvement, Student Involvement, Legislation and Advocacy, and Fundraising presented by California State and 17th District PTA officers.

Speaking of State PTA officers, come and meet Carol Kocivar, incoming President-Elect; Diane Foote, incoming Treasurer; Colleen You, incoming Vice President of Health, and Carol-Ann Koch-Weser, incoming Vice President of Membership from State PTA as they and 17th District will answer all of your questions, as well as share a guest presentation during the general meeting!

Yes, there will also be a general meeting taking place in order for us to conduct the (very brief) business of the district organization, plus our 2009-11 Board of Directors will be installed!

Spotlight on PTA is completely free for all local PTA members to attend and a continental breakfast and brunch will be provided. The event will take place at The Bayside S.T.E.M. Academy Gymnasium at 2025 Kehoe Ave. in San Mateo (view map).
Please note that the agenda has changed a bit this year. The agenda will be as follows:
8:30 AM Registration, Networking, Continental Breakfast
8:50 AM Roundtable Session 1
10:00 AM Brunch, General Meeting, Guest Speakers, Officer Installation
